The Seymour Library will undertake a renovation of the public and staff restrooms beginning on Monday, September 16, 2024. The project will address the ongoing plumbing issues to reroute wastewater through laterals in the under slab of the building. The contractors will then remove and install new fixtures, tiling, HVAC, and stalls. The funding for the project comes from a series of grant funds, the Town of Sweden, the Town of Clarkson, and the Village of Brockport, in addition to Seymour capital funds. The project will take several months, with an end date of November 16, 2024 (hopefully).
During this time, the library will not close. The contractor will deliver a portable restroom trailer to the site, in front of the main entrance. The library has emergency protocols in place. Please see a librarian or the Library Director for details. Please remain mindful during this time between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm for construction workers, materials, and equipment. The Seymour Library Board of Trustees has worked diligently with the Library Director and the contractor to minimize disruptions to patrons and community members. We anticipate having alternative programming, both on and off site, so please continue to follow us for more information. We appreciate everyone’s continued usage of the library as we make a more comfortable and welcoming space for everyone. We look forward to seeing the finished product! Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.
