The Seymour Library Board of Trustees will host the annual meeting between the three municipal boards (Town of Clarkson, Town of Sweden, Village of Brockport) and the library on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at 7:00 pm. We will meet at the library in the Duryea Room. Please see the preliminary agenda for the meeting schedule here.

The Seymour Library will close on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. The library will hold regular hours on Saturday, September 5th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The library will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th at 10:00 am for regular hours.

The results from the 2022 got incorporated into the library’s operations, and we got better because of it. Ratings matter, but we love comments! The Seymour Library will close early on Friday, July 3rd at 1:00 pm in observation of Independence Day. The library will also close for the Fourth of July. The library will re-open on Monday, July 6th at 10:00 am. All summer reading programs will take place as scheduled on July 3rd. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!
The Seymour Summer Reading Kickoff has been postponed due to weather. The event will take place on Friday, June 26th at 5:00 pm. The library will have ice cream from LuGia’s available to the public, courtesy of the Friends of the Seymour Library. The Seymour Library Foundation has partnered with the Lions Club of Brockport for a cookout. We will have entertainment and programs until 7:00 pm. The Friends of the Seymour Library will hold a Yarn and Fabric Sale on Saturday, June 6th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Seymour Library & the Local History Room. The Friends will take donations for the sale every Monday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and then every day during the week of June 1. Please consider donating and participating in the sale to support an excellent organization!
The Seymour Library will close on Monday, May 25th in observation of Memorial Day. The library will reopen on Tuesday, May 26th at 10:00 am.
The Seymour Library will close on Wednesday, April 8th for its annual Staff Development Day. The library will reopen on Thursday, April 9th at 10:00 am for regular hours.
The Seymour Library Board of Trustees will continue meeting every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. The first meeting will commence on Wednesday, January 21st. Agendas, reports, and board packets can be found under the “About” drop down through “Library Board” and “Board Minutes”.
The Seymour Library will close early on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025 at 4:00 pm. The Seymour Library will close for the day on Thursday, December 25th, 2025 for holiday observance. The Seymour Board of Trustees has elected to close on Friday, December 26th, 2025 as well, due to an administrative error in holiday accrual. The library will reopen on Saturday, December 27th at 10:00 am.
The board will make no other changes for holiday closings, and will still hold its monthly board meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 6:30 pm. The library appreciates everyone’s understanding.
